We went to a fun childrens festival down town while were in Utah. The girls made little bird houses and played in the bounce houses, and rode the mini train. Then we went a got on the Trax train (utah's light rail train) and went to the Gateway mall down town and had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. The girls LOVED the train ride. We had a fun day!
One night we went to Wheeler Farm by Sandra's house. It is a big park that also has a bunch of animals and it is free! We had a picnic dinner there and let the girls run around and see the animals. The best part of the night was when were just walking along the path and Sydney was about 10-15 feet behind us walking Millie and about 5 or 6 ducks came up behind here and flapped their wings and started to run across the path. Sydney thought that for sure there were going to get her so she dropped Millie's leash and screamed mama and ran towards me with the most frightened look I have ever seen on her face! It was so hilarious! I was laughing so hard I was crying! She was sure that those ducks were going to attack her. I have never seen her run so fast before! We all got quite the laugh from it. Luckily she recovered quickly and as it turned out the ducks were just heading for the pond- not to attack any little girls :)
We had a great time at the Hogle Zoo in Utah even though it was very hot that day (about 100 degrees) The only good thing was that there was really hardly anyone there. I guess nobody was as crazy as us to go in that kind of heat! We had a super fun time though because all the animals were out and they are so much more close up then our zoo here in Portland. We rode the train and the carousel and saw lots of fun animals. We had a fun time!
We went to the most amazing water park while we were in utah. It is called Cowabunga Bay. As you can see from the pictures it is so colorful and fun looking. It is seriously like the ultimate kids paradise! It is perfect for kids because the slides dont go into pools of water, all the slides just even out at the end and you step out of them. So basically it is like a HUGE play structure with slides and water. It was so much fun! Sydney LOVES the water and any kind of water slide. She screams with joy the entire way down the slides. She is definitly her moms girl in that way because I LOVE water parks too! Even as an adult I could stay there all day going down the slides. We had such a good time there that day. I love Utah sunny weather.
